The Who Am I Tag

HowdyΒ and happy weekend, y’all! I’m writing this post from my childhood home in Indonesia. It’s now been… er, several days since I moved back and things are still hectic as expected, so instead of a substantial book-related post and in an attempt to indulge my laziness, you get a tag. πŸ˜‚

Thanks to Melissa @ BookNerdMomo and Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books for tagging me to do this one. πŸ’—

What is the meaning of my name?

While I go by Reg, my first name is actually Regina, which apparently means…

“Queen” in Latin (or Italian). It was in use as a Christian name from early times, and was borne by a 2nd-century saint. In England it was used during the Middle Ages in honour of the Virgin Mary, and it was later revived in the 19th century. A city in Canada bears this name, in honour of Queen Victoria.

What is my Myer-Briggs personality type? (Link)

No matter which Myer-Briggs test I do, I usually end up an ISTP. Here are some characteristics copied, pasted and paraphrased from that link that I identify with:

  • Friendly but very private, calm but suddenly spontaneous, extremely curious but unable to stay focused on formal studies, Virtuoso personalities can be a challenge to predict, even by their friends and loved ones.Β πŸ’
  • Virtuosos can seem very loyal and steady for a while, but they tend to build up a store of impulsive energy that explodes without warning, taking their interests in bold new directions.
  • Virtuosos’ decisions stem from a sense of practical realism, and at their heart is a strong sense of direct fairness, a β€œdo unto others” attitude.
  • The biggest issue Virtuosos are likely to face is that they often act too soon, taking for granted their permissive nature and assuming that others are the same.
  • They’ll be the first to tell an insensitive joke, get overly involved in someone else’s project, roughhouse and play around, or suddenly change their plans because something more interesting came up.Β πŸ™ˆ

What is my Zodiac Sign?

I’m a Cancer. πŸ¦€Β According to this website, Cancer has the following…

Strengths: Tenacious, highly imaginative, loyal, emotional, sympathetic, persuasive

Weaknesses: Moody, pessimistic, suspicious, manipulative, insecure

Cancer likes: Art, home-based hobbies, relaxing near or in water, helping loved ones, a good meal with friends

Cancer dislikes: Strangers, revealing of personal life

I’m not sure if I’m highly imaginative and don’t think I’m pessimistic or insecure, but y’know. I sure do love home-based hobbies and a good meal with my friends.Β πŸ˜‰

What is my Hogwarts House? (Link)

I’ve always been mainly a Ravenclaw, with little sprinklings of Slytherin.πŸ’™πŸ’š

What are my Learning Styles? (Link)

You have a multimodal learning preference. (VRK)

Visual 8
Aural 4
Read/Write 7
Kinesthetic 7

Basically I learn in every way, y’all.Β πŸ˜‚

Am I Right or Left Brain Dominant? (Link)

ApparentlyΒ my right brain is more dominant, which means… more chaos, creativity, intuition? I’m definitely more led by intuition, but I like to think that my logic works as well. πŸ€”

What is my Blood Type?

My blood type is O. πŸ™†

What Career Am I Meant To Have? (Link)

writerYou have a skill for language, your imagination is vast and you are artistic and creative. Your brain is just overflowing with ideas, and all you have to do is get a piece of paper and share it with the world. You were born to turn words into magical stories.

I feel like I’ve seen the same answer for many, many of these tags! Maybe we’re all very similar in this way? πŸ˜‰

Which Divergent Faction Do I Belong In? (Link)

amity-the-peacefulYou belong in Amity!

You belong with the peaceful. You hate when people fight over the stupidest things, and you’re never one to argue. You’re chill, always laidback. You’re open to the opinions of others, and you love being surrounded by people. You’re at your worst when you’re not on good terms with somebody, and you hate making enemies. You’re willing to make sacrifices if it means keeping the peace, and you usually play mediator. Your fashion is always bright and vibrant, and you’re not afraid of color. You love music, art, and gamesβ€”anything that will make you laugh, dance, or have a good time.

Sounds about right, tbh. I’m all about keeping the peace. πŸ™

What Does My Birth Order Say About Me? (Link)

I’m a firstborn, which apparently comes with these stereotypes: natural leader, ambitious, responsible. I like to think that I’m responsible, but I don’t know if I’m a natural leader or even particularly ambitious — I spent about 8 years being an only child, so I’m sure characteristics of that have bled into my personality too. πŸ™†

Some firstborn characteristics that I identify with:

  • “Firstborns tend to be surrogate parents when other siblings arrive, hence their protective and responsible nature.” — Definitely true, especially given the huge age difference between me and my brother.
  • “When [the firstborn] feels like he has disappointed his parents or can’t measure up, he may veer off in another direction.” — Also true, because #rebel.

  1. Oooh, LOVE that your name means queen. That is AWESOME! Also, fellow Ravenclaw over here. Go Eagles!!! Thanks so much for tagging me. Your answers were really fun to read!

  2. OMG, I took this for my own tag, and I was so shocked to get Hufflepuff as my house. πŸ˜‚ I’m not going to take it seriously though because the Pottermore quiz put me in Ravenclaw. I got Erudite, and I can definitely see you belonging in Amity! πŸ˜„

    • Well, the Pottermore quiz is the most legitimate Hogwarts House quiz there is, so we’ll trust that! πŸ˜‰ Haha, am I really so Amity-like? I’m not a huge fan of Divergent and barely even remember what that faction is like in the book.

      • They’re the faction about peace and kindness! They were actually one of the better factions, imo; Dauntless was my least favorite (even though 2/3 of the main characters are in that faction). πŸ˜‚

        • Makes sense! I think Tris’s parents were in Amity? I should rewatch that movie…

I don’t like Dauntless as well. I actually thought it was reckless and thus irresponsible, not brave, how they like to jump on (or was it off?) the train… πŸ™ˆ

          • No, her mom came from Dauntless, but I totally forget where her dad came from…And, yeah, same. They were pretty useless when I read about their part to society in the books as well. 😝

            • I just Googled it and Abnegation was the one that I thought Tris’s mum came from! Starts with an ‘A’ too, haha. I didn’t even realise she was moved from Dauntless – I pretty much only read the first book and not the rest of the series. πŸ™ˆ

  3. This is such a cool tag! I enjoyed getting to know your more this way, Reg! We actually share a lot in common. I’m also an introvert, left brain dominant, and a ravenclaw (though I’ve been housed in Hufflepuff sometimes when I’ve retaken sorting quizzes).

Also, I’m so happy that you’ve had a safe move! Good luck with all that unpacking (I know that can be unpleasant, hectic, but also exciting), haha.

    • I really enjoy getting to know the blogger behind the blog as well – we don’t always get a chance to do so so I’d take any opportunity. And yay for having some things in common. Admittedly, though, I’m pretty much always a Ravenclaw… like I mentioned in the post, the only other house I’ve ever been sorted to is Slytherin, and that’s quite rare. πŸ˜‰

Thanks, Summer! Definitely unpleasant but it’s coming along nicely. πŸ˜‚

  4. Thanks for tagging me Reg! I really love the meaning of your name! Also, I may or may not spend an hour looking through that astrology website, I’m a sucker for those! πŸ˜‚ I think you are the first ISTP person I’ve met, the others always have letter N on their personality type πŸ˜€

    • No worries, Tasya! Haha, don’t worry – I’ve had those days as well with those astrology websites. And yeaaah, I think ISTPs are pretty rare? I don’t think I’ve met anyone with the same type, although it’s not like I go around asking people I know what their MB type is. I suppose I’m just particularly unintuitive…? πŸ˜‚

  5. Thanks for the tag Reg! I’ve seen this around, and it looks like a lot of fun!
It’s funny before I read your comment on writers I was totally thinking it, every post I’ve seen for this tag is a writer… I feel like I won’t get that as an answer haha watch it be something like math… even though I suck at it! πŸ˜›
I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up in Amity because that was totally describing me!
Also totally a firstborn here! I was an only child for 5 and a half years and I feel like I’m my brother’s mother sometimes haha! 8 is so much longer. Do you find you get along better with your sibling because of the age difference? Because I know I do!

    • Ahh I hope you have fun doing it! And I’m curious to see what profession you’ll get – everyone seems to be getting writer and while that’s pretty, ah, expected, I wouldn’t mind a bit of a surprise. πŸ˜‚

RE: getting along with my sibling – Probably! I think up to when I was like 12ish years old he was pretty annoying, haha. I was too used to being an only child that I took it kinda hard when my parents’ attention wasn’t solely mine anymore, although I did want a brother so much before he came along! Now, though, we get along real great, though like you, I definitely feel like his mother as well at times… πŸ˜…

      • Haha right, I agree I wouldn’t mind some surprise either.
Ah that makes sense. To be honest I don’t even remember the attention being switched to my brother because I liked being by myself all the time; I was totally cool with it. My parents probably have a different story πŸ˜›

        • You’re a more mature kid than I was! I really enjoyed having a brother – I literally carried him around with me like a doll – but I think I was jealous of him, at times. I still am now because my parents are SO lenient with him than they ever were with me. It’s ridiculous, actually, because I’m so much older. πŸ˜‚

  6. Love this post, also I really love the meaning of your name ahha ❀ I think everyone who's done this tag before has come up as a writer…it's our blogging writing that makes us all come up with this result? I don't know ahah πŸ™‚

  7. I have never seen a Virtuoso (that I know in person (?)), so cheers to being dangerous with that electric drill you got there!

Fun fact: although I know you as Reg, my dad’s name is Reggie…so I just thought “Reggie” whenever I saw your name LMAO SORRY.

But this looks like a very tedious (and fun) tag to do, so I may (obviously) have to give this a go.

    • Tbh I don’t relate AT ALL with anything mechanical-related since I’ve always gravitated towards the more creative side of things, but personality-wise that’s got me down to a T. πŸ˜‚

LOL that’s fine! One of my best friends actually do call me Reggie so you’re not too far off. And pssst, totally a worthy tag to do if you’re into quizzes and procrastinating.

    • I know! I’m beginning to wonder if they even have other answers apart from writer. πŸ˜‚ And ‘spontaneously calm’ is actually an accurate way of describing my train of thought. So weird, sometimes.

  8. This is such a fun tag, and I loved reading all your answers as well Reg I’ve been tagged in this myself a couple of times so may have to move it up my list because I just want to get started and take all the quizzes!
I have seen so many other people take this who got Writer as their career as well. I guess given we’re all on here blogging about books (pretty much YA books as well) we’re all pretty similar. I kind of want to see if I can get something different though. I’d be interested to see people’s answers who did get something different. I love the meaning of your name as well. πŸ™‚
It must be nice to be back home in Indonesia again, I’m guessing you’ve still got a lot to get sorted so the fact you’re posting at all is great! I hope you manage to get settled quickly. πŸ™‚

    • I’d love to read your answers, Beth! I’ve taken some of these quizzes before the tag, but it’s always fun to do them again and see what has changed (if any). I’m not a huge believer in personality tests and all that but they’re always super fun to do/read. πŸ˜›

That’s what I thought too! So many people have gotten Writer as their answer for the career question, I have to wonder if the quiz actually has other answers, haha. I’m curious as to what they are.

It hasn’t been as bad as I thought being back, so that’s a plus! Thank you. πŸ’•

  9. This is such an interesting tag! I have defs clicked on the links you provided because I haven’t taken these tests before and I’m really curious to see what I come up with! Great post Reg! (Also the meaning of your name is beautiful!)

  10. This kind of posts are so good to get to know other bloggers, I loved reading your answers! And thank you so much for tagging me ( ❀ ), but I actually already did this one quite recently :/
I'm your opposite in so many things, tho: I'm mainly Slytherin, with a little bit of Ravenclaw influence, and, according to that website, I belong in Dauntless πŸ˜›
I hope things get better and less hectic there πŸ™‚

  11. I love this tag so much. It’s interesting seeing everyone doing the quizzes and it’s funny how many of us have gotten writer. Definitely makes sense on the blogging side of things. YAY for fellow Ravenclaws πŸ’™πŸ’™!! And I take back what I said on mine about not having most of the traits for firstborns because the whole “When [the firstborn] feels like he has disappointed his parents or can’t measure up, he may veer off in another direction.” is me too. πŸ™ˆ
Great answers for this, Reg! I enjoyed reading them. Also, it awesome that your name means Queen. 😁

    • Yay for fellow Ravenclaws! And I’ve started to become so suspicious with the careers quiz… I don’t think I’ve actually seen any other person get anything else other than writer, haha.

OMG I know. I’ve rebelled SO MUCH HARDER against my parents than my brother has – he’s just super chill and laidback. My parents definitely have higher expectations of me, though (they’ve said as much) and it kinda sucks for both of us. πŸ˜…

      Thanks, Melissa! πŸ’–

      Liked by 1 person

      • I saw one person get something different but for everyone else it’s been writer. Definitely a little suspicious. πŸ˜‚
Same! I even remember at one point going through the worst rebellious phase (which none of my sisters went through) that I’m actually a bit embarrassed about now. LOL
Mine have pretty much said the same. I think it’s why I’ve always felt that little bit of extra pressure when it comes to school.
        You’re welcome!! β™₯

        • Soooo suspicious! I’ll have to go through the quiz again and see if I choose the options differently what kind of answer I’ll get.

Never be embarrassed about your rebellious phase! Sometimes I think I’m still in mine, HAHA. It’s ridiculous, but my brother’s also the more ‘docile’ one. Something about being the bulldozer in the family, I suppose – as older siblings we’re the ones who have to “soften” our parents to pave way for the younger ones. πŸ˜‚
