Amanda Hardy is the new girl in school in Lambertville, Tennessee. Like any other girl, all she wants is to make friends and fit in. But Amanda is keeping a secret. There’s a reason why she transferred schools for her senior year, and why she’s determined not to get too close to anyone.

And then she meets Grant Everett. Grant is unlike anyone she’s ever met—open, honest, kind—and Amanda can’t help but start to let him into her life. As they spend more time together, she finds herself yearning to share with Grant everything about herself…including her past. But she’s terrified that once she tells Grant the truth, he won’t be able to see past it.

Because the secret that Amanda’s been keeping? It’s that she used to be Andrew.

Read the first lines…

The bus smelled of mildew, machine oil, and sweat. As the suburban Atlanta sprawl disappeared behind us, I tapped my foot on the floor and chewed a lock of my newly long hair. A nagging voice reminded me that I was only a half hour from home, that if I got off at the next stop and walked back to Smyrna, by sunset I could be in the comfort of my own bedroom, the familiar smell of Mom’s starchy cooking in the air. She would hug me and we would sit down and watch awful reality TV shows together and she would fall asleep halfway through, and then nothing would change.

But something had to change. Because I had changed.

  1. This is such a gorgeous outfit Reg definitely something I would potentially wear to work (my casual dress is a little too casual for me to wear something like this on a weekend), also I think possibly my favourite of your Book Looks so far! I especially love the blouse and iPhone case 😀

    • Thanks, Beth! I wouldn’t really wear this outside of work either… except maybe to formal dinners? But even then, maybe not the high heels because OMG walking for hours in heels isn’t something I’m built for. I really like the phone case as well. 😛

      • Anything more formal than just hanging around with friends and family this would be perfect for! See I can only wear high heels (I have issues with my ankles which make walking in flats painful after a while) and those shoes are sooo pretty! 🙂
