Book Looks: Brown-Eyed Girl by Lisa Kleypas

She Latitude | Kleypas - Brown-Eyed GirlBrown-Eyed Girl (Travis Family, #4)

After the review that I wrote for Lisa Kleypas’ Brown-Eyed Girl last week, it was just natural for me to create a quick outfit for it. Brown-Eyed Girl is the fourth book in the Travis Family contemporary romance series and tells the story of wedding planner Avery Crosslin and the last of the Travis siblings, Joe Travis.

It’s a quick and easy read, occasionally funny though unfortunately also frustrating for reasons I have gone through in my review. Both Avery and Joe are not remarkably interesting although Joe, particularly, can be in his own way, and their relationship unfolds slightly too unnaturally for my liking. While I didn’t enjoy the book as much as I enjoyed Kleypas’ numerous other works, I quite liked the cover. Here’s the outfit it inspired!

She Latitude | Brown-Eyed Girl Outfit

Top | Shorts | Crown | Bag | Shoes

This particular outfit is feminine with a little bit of an edge, perfect for a casual day out with friends. I’m particularly in love with the soft colours of the bag and shoes and how it contrasts with the brighter, bolder flower crown, which is probably the ‘accent’ piece of this whole look. What do you think?
